Zoomye Powers Mountain Orchard Mechanization Upgrade for Shaanxi Apple Industry

On August 16, a 40-member delegation from Mizhi County, a major mountain apple-producing region in northern Shaanxi, visited Weihai to explore advanced orchard mechanization solutions. Led by senior agricultural officials and industry representatives, the group conducted in-depth field inspections at the manufacturing base of Weihai Zoomye Modern Agricultural Equipment Co., Ltd.

The delegation reviewed Zoomye’s full line of orchard machinery, including self-propelled work platforms, fertilizer spreaders, orchard weeder, and high-efficiency harvest transport vehicles. They highly commended the equipment’s performance, intelligent control systems, and adaptability to complex terrain — key factors for Mizhi’s hilly orchards.

During technical exchanges, Zoomye’s engineering team worked closely with the delegation to analyze local planting patterns, terrain constraints, and operational bottlenecks. Customization plans were discussed to better adapt machinery to narrow-row planting, slope operation, and small-to-medium farm scales — a common challenge in many mountainous fruit-growing regions worldwide.

“This collaboration is not just about supplying equipment; it’s about co-developing a systematic mechanization pathway for mountain orchards,” said a Zoomye spokesperson. “Our goal is to help Mizhi achieve higher labor efficiency, consistent fruit quality, and better long-term returns — while expanding our terrain-adaptive solutions to more global markets.”

The visit marks a significant step in bridging advanced agricultural equipment technology from coastal Shandong with the evolving needs of inland mountain fruit zones. Zoomye will continue to support Mizhi’s modern fruit industry transformation through localized equipment optimization, after-sales training, and pilot demonstration programs.

“For decades, our mountain apple industry has been constrained by a lack of machinery suited to our complex hilly terrain and fragmented smallholder plots,” said Wang Degui, the leading official of the Mizhi delegation and director of the county’s agricultural and rural bureau. “Most heavy orchard work still relies on manual labor from aging local workers, as young laborers keep moving to urban areas for non-farm jobs. Zoomye’s adaptive, intelligent equipment directly solves our most pressing pain point.” Shaanxi is China’s largest apple-producing province, with over 11 million mu (around 727,000 hectares) of apple orchards distributed across mountainous and hilly regions in the northern part of the province. Industry data shows more than 60% of these mountain orchards still have a mechanization rate below 30% for key links such as pruning, pesticide spraying and harvesting, pushing up production costs and limiting upgrading of the whole industry. Following the visit, the first batch of customized Zoomye equipment will be shipped to Mizhi by the end of September, to be tested in a 200-mu pilot demonstration zone, with Zoomye sending on-site technical experts to provide free hands-on training for local farmers and adjust equipment parameters based on actual operating feedback. This cooperative model of demand-driven customization is expected to become a replicable template for mechanization upgrading in other mountain fruit-growing regions across China and neighboring Central Asian countries that share similar terrain and planting patterns.
